Tweed Valley Wildlife Carers has many volunteer opportunities for you. Various skills are needed to help our wildlife, so we welcome people of all ages and capabilities to join our wildlife caring family.

It is rewarding knowing that through your volunteer service and working as a team, you are helping to protect our precious native wildlife and be there, when they need our help.

You can join as an Active Member if you are 18+yrs and are a resident of Tweed Shire. As an Active Member you can volunteer your time, skills and dedication to the daily running of the group. We really need committed folk who can work on a team, especially within our Emergency Service area. (Phones, Transport and Rescue). If this doesn’t sound like you Sponsorship would be ideal! Head straight over to Sponsorship now

If you live outside of the shire or overseas, you can contribute financially and become a Sponsor instead.

Our foremost aim is the rescue, rehabilitation and release of native fauna using methods and knowledge gained from training and many years of experience in the field.

Wildlife Training

Our volunteers undertake basic training in the rescue and transport of native wildlife. It is our policy that new members complete an induction and orientation before commencing their volunteer position.

After becoming proficient in basic tasks, members can then choose to start 1st level species training.
