How Tweed Valley Wildlife Carers uses your donations to save lives

Our wildlife rescue and rehabilitation group has been looking after the wildlife in the Tweed Shire for over 30 years. We work 365 days a year with our hotline open 24 hours.

Thanks to your support, we:

  • Run a 24-hour hotline that takes 5000 calls every year.
  • Subsidise the fuel costs of our rescuers who drive around the shire daily.
  • Subsidise the food costs of the 1,500 wildlife in care that we return to the wild every year.
  • Raise community awareness.
  • Provide and update member training for specific species groups.
  • Provide orientation days, rescue & transport training for new members several times a year.

Your donations help us to:

  • Cover the costs of purchasing rescue equipment.
  • Cover the ongoing rehabilitation expenses such as food, transport and enclosures.
  • Cover the cost of veterinary fees.
  • Train more volunteers.
  • Provide community awareness and projects.
